CLIENT SUPPORT, COMMUNITY HOUSING PROGRAM (Overnights 1.0 FTE)

We’re a housing first program and work with women who face chronic homelessness. We support our clients to maintain their housing.

You have a knack for supporting others and empowering them to embrace positive change in their lives. Coming with a deep understanding of women’s issues, active addictions, mental health and domestic violence issues you work with people where they’re at, no judgement. Your excellent interpersonal and communication skills allows you to build rapport with everyone. You might have to deal with crisis from time to time however you don’t work “in crisis”. Although you’re thoughtful and proactive doesn’t mean you can’t roll with emerging issues.

  • Your excellent interpersonal skills make it easy to build rapport and work with diverse individuals
  • You have confidence when dealing with conflict and risk situations
  • You’re comfortable working independently
Qualifications:     WHAT YOU’VE DONE
• Obtained a degree or diploma in a Human Services Field
• Experience working in the homelessness sector
• Strong foundation in addictions, mental health and women’s issues such as domestic violence, trauma
• Understanding of Housing First, Harm Reduction approaches
• Current CPR and First Aid Certification
• ASIST Suicide Intervention
• Developed skills for case notes, reporting
• Strong communication skills both verbally and written

Description:     WHAT YOU’LL DO
• Assess client needs, safety concerns and provide support
• Maintain safety & presence in the building, guest management services for visitors
• Maintain client information – case notes, data entry,
• Provide information & referrals to other community resources
• Provide crisis intervention resources
• Advocate on behalf of clients
