Seeking an experienced Addictions Counsellor for a rewarding position providing support to Canadian Armed Forces members at CFB Edmonton as part of the onsite mental health team.

Qualifications:     Must have a Bachelor Degree or Master Degree in Social Work from a recognized university and hold a current membership certificate with the Alberta College of Social Workers


Must have a minimum of 2 years post-graduate experience in the following:

- Adult mental healthcare environment
- Addictions treatment services
- Administering addictions assessments and formulating treatment plans
- Delivering addictions counselling services to adults in individual and group settings

Description:     As an Addictions Counsellor you will incorporate a variety counselling approaches, including the use of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, to address issues such as substance abuse and dependency, and pathological gambling. In this clinical role you will conduct addictions assessments, create treatment plans, and deliver counselling services, including individual and group counselling. You will work alongside a mental health team consisting of Psychiatrists, Clinical Psychologists, Mental Health Nurses, Addictions Counsellors, and Medical Social Workers.
