|Qualifications:||Completed a degree or diploma in the Human Services field, Social Work or Career Development
Minimum 3 years’ experience in group facilitation with a focus on employment readiness
Extensive experience working with individuals from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds
Comprehensive working knowledge of community resources
Thorough knowledge of employment services and employability supports across Edmonton
Excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills
Excellent time management and organizational skills
The ability to manage competing priorities and complete tasks independently
Work well within a multidisciplinary team environment
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook and Excel
Current First Aid certification, Criminal Record Check and CWIS Record Check
A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
Training in Financial Literacy such as the Empower U program would be an asset
|Description:||As the Employment Specialist, you will be responsible for group facilitation, education and program development as identified by community/family needs. In addition, the Employment Specialist will deliver comprehensive education and provide ongoing support for referrals to Norwood staff and participants regarding current employability training information, resources and programs across Edmonton.
The successful candidate will;
Develop programs and facilitate client education groups
Offer group and 1:1 support in the area of employment readiness skills
Provide supported referrals
Develop and deliver staff education workshops to Norwood employees.
Attend community events, networks and interagency meetings as a representative of Norwood
