Edmonton John Howard Society (EJHS) is a community based not for profit crime prevention agency that has been operating in Edmonton since 1949. Our mission is “through our programs and services we work to prevent crime and to help people affected by crime”.

The Family Violence Centre (FVPC) was established in 1997 to address gaps in services related to family violence and meet the needs of diverse groups. The successful candidate will be responsible for all phases of program and policy development and implementation, monitor operational and evaluative aspects of programs and fulfill supervision requirements of direct reports. This position reports to the Director of Community Services.

The Manager of Family Violence Prevention Centre currently oversees 4 programs at 3 different sights. The Manager in the unit requires the ability to flex to circumstances, be innovative when problem solving and utilize exemplary communication and collaboration skills.

Qualifications:     BSW preferred, a Degree in related Human Services field will be considered
3 to 5 years relevant supervisory experience with 2 years’ experience working with persons impacted by family violence using a client centered approach
General computer knowledge (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
Strong knowledge of community resources
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to work within a fast paced, high work volume program
Criminal Record Check, Enhanced Reliability and Child Intervention Check
Description:     Ensures compliance with mandatory HR practices per SLT Administrative Procedures and Supervision Policy
Comprehends, values and implements all agency and program policy
Understands and practices the EJHS mission, vision, values and guiding principles
Ability to think globally and provide strategic big picture ideas
Advocates for and positively represents the agency and unit when working with stakeholders
Demonstrates openness to new organizational structures, procedures and technology
Oversee the Record of Absences and payroll Time Sheets for staff
Complete funder reports and proposals within required timelines
Ensure that all record keeping database information and billing are reviewed, organized, updated and completed within required timelines
Assists with development of the program budgets including providing information for budget priorities
Ensure policies and processes are implemented and followed as per the requirement for CARF Accreditation
Monitor and ensure compliance on all agency and program policies compliance and ensure services are delivered in compliance with policy
Complete regular supervision and Annual Performance Appraisals as per Supervision policy
Provide day to day supervision to assigned supervisees per practice and policy and agency philosophy
Participate in Senior Leadership Team meetings and activities
Role model agency mission, vision, values and guiding principles
Assist with development and implementation of Agency business plan
Monitor and follow up on program targets and tasks
Implement performance management framework at program level for operations and staff
