Position: Full-Time Live In Transitional Support Worker — Edmonton, AB

(Please note: This is a 4 month contract position with possible extension)

 

Qualifications:     Qualifications/Experience: Individual must have a diploma/degree in Human Services or equivalent (mandatory), 2 years combined experience working with youth, good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, be results oriented and be a positive role model to youth.

Other Requirements: A current, clear Police Information Check, Intervention Record Check.
Description:     Nature of Work:
 Provide and ensure a nurturing, safe and secure environment for the individuals served, including using Non-Abusive Crisis Intervention methods as necessary, and the provision of First Aid services as required
 Required to remain awake on shift while conducting spot checks
 Provide consistent supervision and regular checks of the individuals served
 Ensure the consistency of a healthy, positive and therapeutic environment for the individual served
 Develop therapeutic relationships with the individual served
 Ensure the safety and security of the youth in the building
 Prepare paperwork for the A.M. shift.

Hours of Work:
 8 hour shifts with 1 hour awake time
 12 night shifts on and 2 off (Sunday to Thursday 11:00pm – 7:00am, Friday to Saturday 12:00am – 8:00am)
 Unfurnished apartment is provided
