WOMEN’S SUPPORT WORKER, SHERIFF KING SHELTER

With an approach of professional calm you can support women and their children during times of crisis. Your empathetic and non-judgmental approach allows you to easily build rapport and a trusting relationship whereby together you create goals and plans for clients to move forward in their lives. We take our work seriously but not ourselves so a sense of humour and joy in life is a must.

Qualifications:     WHAT YOU’VE DONE
• Completed your bachelor of Social Work or equivalent in a human services field
• Bring two years’ experience working in the field of violence against women
• Demonstrated ability to develop relationships
• Developed a deep understanding of community services to make great referrals

Description:     WHAT YOU’LL DO
• Work directly with women & their children in crisis leaving unsafe situations
• Create safety plans, goals & action plans that move women to stability (case management)
• Refer clients to community resources
• Support women to navigate social systems, or deal with complex Child & Family Services involvement
• Provide a safe, caring environment where women & their children can thrive
