As the Health Professions Act has been proclaimed, successful applicants who possess a BSW, MSW or Diploma in Social Work are required to register and maintain registration with the College of Social Workers. The successful candidate will be required to have a valid Alberta Driver's license and have access to a reliable vehicle as travel will be required. The final candidate for this position will be asked to undergo academic verification, an Intervention Record Check and provide a Criminal Record Check that includes a Vulnerable Sector screening check.

This competition may be used to fill current and future temporary vacancies across North Central Alberta.
Qualifications:     Bachelor of Social Work with at least 6 months related experience. Related experience working in Child Protection and Intervention Services is preferred. Microsoft Office experience is an asset. Equivalencies will be considered: Master of Social Work, OR related university degree and 2 years related experience; OR related diploma and 3 years related experience.
Description:     The Caseworker will engage and collaborate with the family, along with the Generalist and the service team members, to develop the case plan, undertaking ongoing assessment of the children and youth at risk. The team along with the family will build the case plan utilizing a strengths-based approach to provide and manage services within specified timeframes to mitigate risk. The Caseworker engages families, helps them to understand their situation, and works with them to address issues causing the child to be in need of intervention. This position engages child/youth, family and community supports to reduce risk to child/youth, promote permanency and better outcomes for child/youth and families. It also establishes or enhances existing relationships and partnerships in order to provide services to children and their families. The Caseworker is also responsible for preparing parents and children for court and preparing all necessary court documents. You must have flexibility in your schedule as the position is required to participate in on-call/after hour's rotation (evenings and weekends).
