Sturgeon Public School Division is currently seeking a Full Time Temporary Registered Social Worker, with the possibility of becoming a permanent position; to work as part of the interdisciplinary team and to provide a full range of support services to the Director of Early Childhood Education; Student Services.
Duties: As a member of a multi-disciplinary team of therapists and teachers, the Social Worker works with families of the Headstart/Kindergarten students to develop the skills and resources needed to enhance social functioning. This includes in-home family visits and the coordination and delivery of parenting programs in the evening.
|Qualifications:||Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Social Work, as well as current registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers is required. Previous experience working in a school setting would be an asset.
|Description:||Hours of Work: 40 hours per week; Monday to Friday. This position coincides with the operational school year (Sept to June) and the successful incumbent will be required to work up to two evening shifts per week to accommodate the parenting programs. SSD offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes a defined pension plan.
Hourly Rate: $28.96 - $37.15
The Sturgeon Public School Division has a comprehensive benefits package which includes a defined pension as per the General Employment Conditions.
This position is based out of Central Office in Morinville. Travel will be required. All new employees to Sturgeon Public School Division are required to provide a recent (6 months current) Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector prior to the commencement of employment.
