Summary:     The 4 Wing Cold Lake Military Family Resource Centre Society (MFRCS) is looking for a highly motivated, resilient and client-focused Social Worker. As part of the Prevention, Support and Intervention (PSI) team, the Family Support and Intervention Coordinator is responsible for initial intake services, assessment and referral, emergency resource development and maintenance, workshop service delivery, community resource networking, and PSI information resource development and maintenance.
Qualifications:     To succeed in this role you have:
• A Degree in Social Work; must be registered with Alberta College of Social Workers;
• 3-5 years (minimum) Social Work experience;
• Experience working with children and youth;
• Ability to work with individuals, couples and families;
• Experience with maintaining timely and accurate files;
• Proven experience in crisis intervention techniques and proven ability under pressure;
• Experience in group facilitation;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills (public speaking required);
• Experience with intake and assessment as well as the ability to establish priorities and evaluate risk to self and others;
• Excellent interpersonal skills;
• Experience in program development, implementation, and management;
• Strong and thorough knowledge of community resources;
• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, internet;
• A valid driver’s licence;
• Team player;
• Willingness to work flexible hours;

Knowledge of the unique challenges of the military lifestyle and proficiency in French are also considered an asset.
