As a member of the multi-disciplinary team, reporting to the Program Manager, Community Addiction and Mental Health, Central Zone - South, you will provide emergent intervention, screening, risk and mental health assessment, provisional diagnostic and treatment planning services to adults with acute, and chronic psychiatric disorders in a variety of community settings. Service is primarily provided to adult clinic, but you may on occasion respond to clients’ needs of all age group with addiction and psychiatric disorders, i.e. children, adolescents, and adults.

Direct client care includes responding, screening, and prioritizing service, conducting necessary assessment and providing treatment to clients including mental status and risk assessments and therapy. Familiarity with mental health legislation is essential to provide both education; clinical care and collaborative working relationships with other health professionals. Utilizing a variety of treatment modalities, you will provide consultation to community agencies, physicians, and other key stakeholders in the care continuum of addiction and mental health.

Qualifications:     Completion of one of the following programs:
o Master's degree in Psychology.
o Master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy and who have Psychosocial Intervention Authorization.
o Master's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy.
o Master's degree in Nursing and Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health, assessment and provision of psychotherapy.
• Active or eligible for registration with the applicable regulatory college.
• Regulatory classification to perform psychosocial interventions.
• Two years recent experience in Mental Health; equivalencies may be considered.
• Current BCLS-HCP certification.
• You are a self-directed, highly motivated team member with demonstrated leadership, organizational and problem solving skills, and the ability to work independently.

NOTE: Social Workers must be authorized by ACSW to provide psychosocial interventions.
Description:     As the Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to perform the restricted activity of psychosocial intervention utilizing a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment.
