This workshop will provide an overview of best practices for supervision in a social work context.  In addition, the importance of supervision as it relates to evidence-based practice will be explored.

Lana Bentley, MSW, RSW
 

Lana Bentley currently works as the Director of Program Operations with the YWCA of Calgary.  In addition, she teaches part-time at Mount Royal University.  Prior to her current role, Lana worked for Alberta Health Services where she managed a children’s psychiatric inpatient unit and psychiatric emergency department.  Lana also worked in the area of eating disorders and served as the Clinical Supervisor for the Calgary Eating Disorders Program.  Lana’s clinical interests include: supervision, family therapy, group therapy, eating disorders, and women’s health.  She is a board member with the SHARP Foundation and volunteers with the Canadian Women’s Foundation domestic violence grant committee.  A level-one ski instructor, Lana can be found at Sunshine Village most weekends.  When she’s not on the slopes you can find her boxing or being walked by her two Shetland Sheepdogs.



Attendance Requirements:  

In order to receive the 3 Category A credits participants must attend the entire workshop.
Partial credits will not be provided.

Fees (Include Light Refreshments):

$30 for RSW and ACSW members

$20 for ACSW student members

$25 for other social work students

$60 for all other participants
