Approximately 76% of Canadian adults report one traumatic exposure in their lifetime (Amerigen, Mancini, Patterson & Boyle, 2008). Statistics like this demonstrate that trauma is common, pervasive and part of the human experience. Despite these traumatic experiences, the human spirit is resilient. Utilizing trauma-informed practice and a holistic approach one can better understand the context of trauma and how this may be effecting the individuals being supported. This will enable practitioners to drill deeper to access, support and enhance the innate resiliency in those they serve.

This two-day conference will engage front-line workers, supervisors, policy makers and parents in the science of resilience. Through a collaborative learning environment participants will learn how to be allies in supporting others on their journey moving from trauma to resilience.
