Compassion Fatigue Workshop
ACSW Slave Lake Area Coordinators and Slave Lake Family and Community Support Services are please to present a workshop on: Compassion Fatigue.
Compassion Fatigue: refers to the profound emotional and physical exhaustion that helping professionals and caregivers can develop over time. It is a gradual erosion of all thing that keep us connected to outers; our empathy, our hope, and our compassion.

Workshop Time: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Presenters: Mary Nyachieo, MSW, RSW
Presenter Bio: Mary Nyachieo is from Kenya and now makes Slave Lake Alberta her home. She speaks 7 languages. Mary can be heard saying “When Elephants fight, it is the grass that suffers”. Mary has a Home Economics background, a BSW emphasis on disabilities, and a generalist MSW from Delaware State.
Attendance Requirements:
In order to receive the 6 Category A credits participants must attend for the entire workshop.
Partial credits will not be provided.
Fees :
$10.00 for RSW's and ACSW Student Members
$15.00 for other social work students
$20.00 for all other participants
Refreshments will be provided. Participants are responsible for thier own lunch during the lunch break at 12:00-1:00 PM.
Maximum Participants: 50
Due to the low registration fee NO refunds for cancellation will be given.
