This is a two day conference being presented by Dr. Maurice J. Elias, a professor of psychology at Rutgers University and the Director of the Rutgers Social-Emotional and Character Development Lab. Professor Elias lectures nationally and internationally to professionals about children's emotional intelligence and social-emotional and character development. The main session, "Promoting Social-Emotional, Character Development, Positive Purpose, and School Culture and Climate: Catalysts for Student Academic and Life Success", is being held on Wednesday, May 10 at the Strathmore Travelodge from 9:30 - 15:30. Conference-goers then have a choice to take a second session (also presented by Dr. Maurice Elias) on either Tuesday, May 9 from 13:30 to 16:00 OR Thursday, May 11 from 9:00 to 11:30. This session is titled "Enhancing Youth Voice, Empowerment, and Engagement in Individuals, Groups and Classrooms".
