The Standards of Practice - A Tool Navigating Challenging Areas of Practice


Social workers encounter a wide range of situations in the course of their day to day practice.  The very nature of social work gives rise to some difficult conversations.  Whether these situations involve impaired co-workers, clients who are homicidal or suicidal, conflict in the workplace or conflict of interest, this workshop is designed to prepare you for a myriad of ethical dilemmas and difficult situations.  

Workshop Time: 5:00 - 8:00 PM

Presenter:

Sheryl Pearson, LLB, MSW, RSW

After a career in social work, law and policy consulting, Sheryl was hired as one of two managers of regulatory practice with the ACSW in 2013. As one of the Managers of Regulatory Practice, she is committed to supporting members facing ethical dilemmas as well as educating members on the Standards of Practice.

Attendance Requirements:  

In order to receive the 3 Category A credits participants must attend the entire workshop.
Partial credits will not be provided.

Fees (Include Supper):

$40 for RSW and ACSW members

$25 for ACSW student members

$30 for other social work students

$80 for all other participants

Please be sure to indicate any dietary concerns.

Buffet supper and networking opportunity will be provided from 5:00 - 5:30 PM.
