In this workshop, you will learn about the University of Calgary’s new Sexual Violence Policy, discuss and understand what the term “sexual violence” encompasses, and learn some helpful tips on how to respond to a disclosure.

Carla Berstch, MSW, RSW
 

Carla Bertsch has been appointed as the University of Calgary’s inaugural Sexual Violence Support Advocate. She is a passionate and skilled leader in the Calgary social services, non-profit, and public sectors. Her professional experiences are primarily in the areas of domestic violence, mental health, and education. She holds a Bachelor of Applied Justice Studies from Mount Royal University, a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Calgary, and a Masters of Social Work from the University of Victoria. Carla is a dedicated social justice advocate, working towards socially just spaces for all people and is excited to be part of the University of Calgary’s commitment to create and sustain a safe and inclusive campus.



Attendance Requirements:  

In order to receive the 3 Category A credits participants must attend the entire workshop.
Partial credits will not be provided.

Fees (Include Light Refreshments):

$30 for RSW and ACSW members

$20 for ACSW student members

$25 for other social work students

$60 for all other participants
