Qualifications:     Required Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Counselling or Clinical Social Work or related discipline
Registered or able to be registered under the Health Professions Act
Proven counselling and assessment skills
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
Demonstrated organizational skills and initiative
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to identify and solve problems

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with the needs of post-secondary learners and the post-secondary environment an asset
Knowledge of community resources and adult learners an asset
Description:     The Counselling & Career Centre provides programs, services and support to help students achieve their personal, social and academic goals. We help students achieve success by helping them cope with personal concerns that may interfere with their academic progress. A broad range of counseling skills and knowledge in the areas of personal, career and academic issues is required.
As the successful candidate, you will have an awareness of the developmental needs and counseling concerns presented by a diverse post-secondary student population. You will provide counselling services to Red Deer College students and prospective students, with a primary focus on personal and career counselling. In addition to providing individual counselling, you will plan and provide workshops, develop outreach and psychoeducational activities and liaise with diverse internal and external stakeholders. As part of an integrated service team, you will provide risk assessment, crisis intervention and referral, on an as-needed basis. You will participate in regular group and individual supervision and case consultations.
