Emotional Intelligence is essential for the performance, practice and career development of social service and
health professionals. The workshop aims to explore the five core aspects of practice (engagement with service
users, assessment & observation, decision making, collaboration & co-operation, and dealing with stress) and
enables participants to flourish on personal and professional wellbeing. This workshop will include a participatory reflective game.

Learning Objectives:

- Understand the theory of emotional intelligence and skill areas and how it relates to personal and professional development.
- Explore self-awareness, behavioural agility and understanding of others.
- Manage emotions and build personal resilience.
- Build more effective relationships with people at work.
- Develop strategies for enhancing your emotional intelligence capabilities.

Nimir Raval, MSW Equiv, RSW
 

Nimir Raval is a social worker with 14 years of experience in international organizations, municipalities, and
non-profits. He holds an MSW Equiv in nonprofit governance and transference. He currently works at The
Family Centre as The Manager of Community Initiatives. With extensive experience of creating and managing
programs, he has facilitated trainings which includes: a) Leadership, Coaching & Mentoring, b) Multicultural
Workplaces, c) Soft Skills and Emotional Intelligence for Leaders and Professionals, and d) Teamwork.

Attendance Requirements:  

In order to receive the 3 Category A credits participants must attend the entire workshop.
Partial credits will not be provided.

Fees (Include a light snack):

$25 for RSW and ACSW members

$15 for ACSW student members

$20 for other social work students
